The Old Buncombe County Genealogical Society Annual Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Manheimer Room in the Reuter Center, University of North Carolina Asheville Campus from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Presenter Dr. Thomas W. Jones PhD, a board-certified genealogist, award-winning writer and recipient of awards from genealogical organizations, will offer 4 sessions designed to help both beginning and experienced researchers find paths around research barriers.
Topics include:
- Building a Credible Lineage, Despite Missing information, Conflicting and Incorrect Records, and Undocumented Publication
- Finding ‘Unfindable’ Ancestors
- The Jones Jinx: Tracing Common Surnames
- Systematically Using Autosomal DNA Test Results to Help Break Through Genealogical Brick Walls
The Early Bird Registration Fees are $45 for OBCGS members and $55 for non-members. After May 15, 2020, the fees go up to $55 for OBCGS members and $65 for non-members.
